It focuses on preparing adult learners from marginalized communities in Myanmar for effective participation in developing their communities, and for further education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Curriculum Department currently operates two programs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/educasia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Educasia_Logo_new-1-800x271.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2963\" width=\"280\" height=\"95\" srcset=\"https:\/\/educasia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Educasia_Logo_new-1-800x271.jpg 800w, https:\/\/educasia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Educasia_Logo_new-1-300x102.jpg 300w, https:\/\/educasia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Educasia_Logo_new-1-768x260.jpg 768w, https:\/\/educasia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Educasia_Logo_new-1-1536x520.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/educasia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Educasia_Logo_new-1-2048x693.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Educasia works to support the development of non-government post-secondary and adult education initiatives in Myanmar.<br \/>Educasia\u2019s objectives include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Enabling students in post-secondary and adult education to develop the skills and knowledge required to participate effectively in the development of their communities, and pursue meaningful further education.<\/li><li>Building the capacity of teachers in low-resource post-secondary and adult education to develop student-centered teaching skills and create active analytical learning environments.<\/li><li>Supporting post-secondary and adult education programs, in both formal and informal settings, to develop and implement effective context-appropriate curricula and syllabi which prepare learners to participate effectively in the development of their communities, and pursue meaningful further education.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Curriculum Project&#8217;s objectives are broadly similar to Educasia, except that the program works with Myanmar populations (refugees, exiles, and migrants) based along Myanmar\u2019s borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><em><strong>Educasia&#8217;s mission and functions<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Educasia started in 2008 as a replication of the successful program <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/curriculumproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Curriculum Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Educasia supports the development of post-secondary and adult education initiatives in Myanmar. Its focus is on non-formal groups working for positive social change and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Educasia works to:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Provide young adults with appropriate knowledge and skills to participate in peaceful development of communities and society and to pursue meaningful further education<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Support development, implementation and provision of context-appropriate curricula and learning structures<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Build capacity of teachers and educators in low-resource environments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Build flexible learning pathways and innovative educational solutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thabyay\u2019s Curriculum Department prepares and distributes context-appropriate curricular materials and teacher training.
